The pace of the 2026 harvest is accelerating. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of July 20, 1337.40 thousand hectares of grains and legumes have been harvested in Ukraine (which is 11% of the planned 11754.85 thousand hectares). 5469.04 thousand tons have been threshed with an average yield of 4.09 tons/hectare.
Specifically:
- wheat (winter + spring) — 633.24 thousand hectares (12% of the planned 5125.14 thousand hectares), 2599.82 thousand tons threshed with a yield of 4.11 tons/hectare,
- barley (winter + spring) — 580.51 thousand hectares (39% of 1481.84), 2562.71 thousand tons harvested with a yield of 4.41 tons/hectare,
- peas — 121.56 thousand hectares (41% of 296.54 thousand hectares), 301.43 thousand tons threshed with a yield of 2.48 tons/hectare.
The harvesting of winter and spring rapeseed is also ongoing. 216.21 thousand hectares have already been threshed out of the planned 1320.60 thousand hectares, which is 16%, with 429.60 thousand tons threshed and a yield of 1.99 tons/hectare.
The threshing of peas is progressing at the highest pace, with over 40% of the areas already harvested. Farmers in the Odesa region have harvested the largest areas of this legume crop — 48.6 thousand hectares (46% of the planned). The Mykolaiv region ranks second with an indicator of 34.9 thousand hectares (71%), and the Kirovohrad region is third, with 15.7 thousand hectares threshed (50%).
The top five also include:
- Dnipropetrovsk region — 7.7 thousand hectares (45%);
- Poltava region — 3.2 thousand hectares (26%).
Odesa region also leads in terms of total planted areas of peas for the 2026 harvest — 106.9 thousand hectares. Farmers in the Mykolaiv region have allocated half as much for this legume — 49.2 thousand hectares.

Western and central regions are leading in terms of yield. The best result is currently demonstrated by the Volyn region — 3.29 tons/hectare, although the areas under the crop there are small, with only 3 thousand hectares planned and 0.87 thousand hectares harvested so far.
The top 5 regions for yield also include:
- Cherkasy — 3.07 tons/hectare;
- Ternopil — 2.83 tons/hectare;
- Khmelnytskyi — 2.75 tons/hectare;
- Donetsk and Kirovohrad — 2.70 tons/hectare each.
Meanwhile, the leaders in terms of crop planting areas show the following yield results:
- Odesa region — 2.51 tons/hectare
- Mykolaiv region — 2.38 tons/hectare,
- Kirovohrad region — 2.7 tons/hectare.
The average yield of peas across the country is almost 2.5 tons/hectare.
