The government has decided on an emergency support package for agricultural producers

Ukrainian agrarians will gain enhanced opportunities for accessing preferential financing amidst Russian attacks on port infrastructure and the effective blockade of some maritime export routes. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The government has approved a resolution on an emergency support package for agricultural producers, designed to offset the consequences of Russian aggression in the Black Sea and the related challenges with agricultural product exports.

Amendments have been made to the state program “5-7-9%”, which will enable agricultural producers to secure preferential loans to replenish working capital. The state will cover the difference between the preferential and market interest rates.

The total volume of credit resources available for the agricultural sector under this program will amount to 80 billion UAH. It is anticipated that these funds will assist enterprises in acquiring necessary resources for fieldwork, maintaining production capacities, and preserving their ability to export products even under challenging logistical conditions.

Concurrently, Ukraine is collaborating with the European Commission to secure additional financial aid and further expand the preferential lending program.

As reported by AgroPolit.com, Ukrainian dairy products are gaining demand in global markets via Iran. Furthermore, the conflict in the Middle East is leading to rising prices for energy and fertilizers.
